Just days after Macquarie Bank's acquisition of the majority of DMG's regional stations, Group Program Director, Mike Perso, has resigned after two years in the post and will finish up on Friday.

After 12 months based at Australasian Retail Radio Network's Brisbane office, Jamie Cammell has been appointed Supplier & Agency Account Manager; and in the process re-locates to Melbourne to set up new studio/offices in Brighton.

Frenzal Rhomb members, Jason Whalley and Lindsay McDougal, will fill in for six weeks for Chris Taylor and Craig Reucassel on Triple J drive, in direct competition with Austereo's Jackie O and Kyle Sandilands. Relations have been less than good since a Darwin concert where the group played and Jackie O compered.

Aaron Coward (aka aza) Brekky Producer at Mix 102.3 Adelaide has just accepted a position at NOVA 91.9. He will be the Brekky Production Man! Aaron will also be leaving Fresh FM where he has been an on air announcer for over 5 years

Breakfast: Jodie, Jules and Tony, with Ryan.

9am-1pm: Lisa Fernandez (Triple M Brisbane; STAR FM Pt Macquarie).

1-5pm: Hayden Else (Triple M Adelaide).

5-6pm: Merrick and Rosso

6-7pm: Michelle Murphy (SAFM).

7-11pm: Gemma Clark (FRESH FM).

Australian Film Television and Radio School Director Malcolm Long, has announced the re-appointment of Steve Ahern to the upgraded position of AFTRS Head of Radio.

“The Senior Executive status for this position reflects the increased input the Radio Branch is now making within the School. Steve Ahern has made a significant contribution to AFTRS since he joined us in 1997, and I am pleased that he has agreed to continue to lead the Radio Branch into the future,” says Long.

Toni Collett, former business manager and Commercial Radio Award winner in 1993 for Best Newcomer Off Air at Canberra FM has moved on from radio and will start in an Executive Assistant's role with the Australian Federal Police. She is looking forward to her new role, especially after studying law for three years, although she will miss the team.

Nova 96.9 has not renewed its contract with afternoon presenter Andy Grace because the station wants to make some "creative changes" to the lineup. Andy Grace says: "I'm now a free agent for all radio broadcasting services, including dishwashing and massage (remedial/therapeutic of course)."

Neil Cranmer, the Programming/Training Officer of 2NBC has left after four years. In the words of Geoffrey Suranyi, the Manager, "they have appreciated his input into the station". Neil is currently looking at new opportunities.

Grant Tothill will take on a newly created role of Triple M Network Program Director. Craig Bruce, currently Adelaide PD, will assume a similar role as Today Network PD, with a focus on rebuilding 2Day FM. He will be replaced in Adelaide by 2Day FM’s assistant PD, Dave Cameron. Current 2Day PD, Dave Rymer, will become Triple M Brisbane PD.

Movement of a family kind: 2GB afternoon presenter, Chris Smith, is a father for a second time. Wife, Alison, has given birth to Morgan - a little brother for their 18 month old daughter, Ashley.

A succesful six months for David Day's Australian Radio School students. Latest new talent in to the industry is Justin Owen who's off to 5CC Port Lincoln to join fellow Australian Radio School past student Cameron Marlowe.Others finding success in the past six months have been: Ryan Tothill to 2DAY FM, Jessica Sheridan to the new Nova Adelaide, Gabby McEwan and Scott Curtis to the Sunshine Coast, Brad Collins to Berri and Catherine Ellis to Parkes. David Day's Australian Radio School is based in Adelaide. David has had 35 years in Radio - twenty three of those with Austereo.
