Matt Steven has made a lifestyle change...and resigned from Triple M Sydney as Breakfast Production Manager. Matt and his fiance are heading to the tropics to build a house and enjoy the warm weather! He's taken the position of Producer & Qld Heritage Webmaster at dmg Radio's Townsville Hub.

John Piva is now doing breakfast for
102.3/105.1 StarFM Port Macquarie. He was, until recently, the Promotions Manager at 2AY/104.9 StarFM Albury and has previously worked on air at Mix FM Sunshine Coast, Sea Fm and Hot FM Cairns and 4CC Gladstone.

Glen Mintern married Noemi Zanella the traffic manager at Townsville early last year. Eight weeks ago today had a baby girl called Montana weighing in at 7lb 1oz. Glen is absolutely ecstatic about being a dad and can't wait to go home every day. Noemi is on maternity leave until November

Gretal Killeen is filling in for Kate Langbroek on Nova 100 breakfast during her maternity leave. Kate had a baby girl on August 7th.

Major on-air changes at Triple M Sydney...Fi Fi Box and Mikey Robbins will move to drive with "The Whole Shebang" as from Wednesday 20th August. The show will feature other celebs including Jamie Dury. Breakfast is also taking on a change, Pete Berner will still be involved. The Cage also starts Wednesday. More news as it comes to hand.

Dene Mason has taken the position as 2Day Morning Crew Producer. Dene comes from Triple M Sydney, where she was a Producer for Club Veg for 2 years and more recently an afternoon announcer.
She starts on Monday 24th August.

Guy Dobson will be taking over the reigns as PD at 2Day FM for a six
week period, from September 7th, until a replacement is found for Rob Logan.

DMG Radio today announced the appointment of Darryl Watherston as the General
Manager of its new radio station on the Sunshine Coast. Darryl is a well known
media operator on the Coast, having worked with WIN TV and Channel 10 prior to
making the jump to Australia's largest radio group.

A sad announcement. 2DU Dubbo advises the death of former morning announcer, Bob Moore. Bob passed away on Tuesday 12th August.
He will be greatly missed by his many colleagues who worked with him over the years at 2DU. Radioinfo's thoughts go to Bob's family and all at 2DU.

already been offered jobs:

  • Nick Condon - announcer/copywriter 2LT/Kiss FM Lithgow
  • Brendon Boss and Lisa Leong - mid-dawn presenters at Hot Tomato Gold Coast
  • Amanda Lumsden - nights at Power FM Muswellbrook
  • Matthew Dawson - copywriter at C FM Toowoomba
  • Jo Donohue - afternoons at Sun FM Shepparton

The course will finish on September 5th.

90.9 SEA FM on the Gold Coast has employed another local to it's on air line up.

Shane Ferguson "Fergo" a former Merrimac High and Broadbeach Primary student has replaced Trent Towson as Mid Dawn announcer.

This is Shane's first on air gig, to date he has been the Morning Crew street boy doing semi clad stunts for the past 12 months.

Trent Towson also a former Gold Coast Schoolboy has been promoted to the position of Program Director Gippsland Radio Centre.

A heap of changes in the Triple M Promotions Department in Sydney...Inger Flathaug returns to Austereo in the role of Triple M Sydney Promotions
Manager. Inger has previously been a Promotions Manager at Triple M Brisbane
and with Austereo Live. Inger will be responsible for FREQ Club activity,
breakfast show promotions, sponsorships and Direct Sales. This is effective
immediately.

Nathan McCahon takes on the new position of Triple M Sydney Events Manager.
Nath will be responsible for implementing and executing station events,
building relationships with other media and event organisers, developing
partnerships with music industry & community events and taking station
events to the next level.

WorldAudio has appointed Geoff Inwood as General Manager, Broadcast Operations for Radio 2. He previously held positions as Operations Manager for NRTV (Northern NSW) a Channel TEN affiliate, and as Special Projects Manager for Channel TEN (Northern NSW) until 2001. Recent short term assignments include Technical Services consultant for DMG (2CS and STAR FM) and Digital TV Planning for Southern Cross Broadcasting.

Chairman of the Australian Communications Authority (ACA), Tony Shaw has announced his resignation from mid-October. He has been the Chairman of the ACA since it was established in July 1997. ACA Deputy Chairman, Dr Bob Horton, will act in the position until a replacement is decided.

Malcolm Long and Robert Le Tet have been reappointed to their positions as part time members of the ABA board. Their 4 year terms will now continue until 2007.

Simon Skerman starts as the new Sydney Manager of Regional Radio Bureau in Sydney on the 13th August.
Skerman has a strong Radio background in Agency sales with Macquarie and Austereo Sydney and is no stranger to Regional Radio previously working with Back to Media in Sydney.
