ABC Melbourne presenter Red Symons has announced he is hanging up the headphones after close to 15 years. The former Skyhooks guitarist told his listeners, "Why am I going? They haven't said, and I haven't asked.'

Emily Copeland, the new Vice President at FBi

At FBi Radio’s AGM this week, Emily Copeland was announced as the station’s new Vice President. Emily has been involved with FBi since 2003, and has served on the board for the past 7 years. She replaces Brandon Saul who had held the VP position for 16 years, and was instrumental in the early success of FBi.  Clare Holland, Managing Director of FBi, told radioinfo:
We are thrilled to have had Emily appointed as our Vice President. With her experience and extensive knowledge of partnerships and the shifting media landscape, she is a wonderful asset to the station.

Former painter turned radio announcer John Watkin has been appointed to host the morning show on 2EC Bega. “I’ve been self-employed for the last 27 years, this is out of my comfort zone... For me, radio is part of the local community, it’s a connection point, it’s a conduit for the community to share what’s going on,” John told Ian Campbell on the About Regional website.

Dave Carter leaves CrocMedia

Dave Carter has resigned his position as Content Director at Crocmedia and his last day will be this Friday December 1. He told radioinfo;
It’s been a huge 12 months and whilst it’s definitely time for a break and a recharge of the mental batteries, I’m leaving the content side of the business in very good shape. I’ll be staying in media with a number of projects currently in the pipeline, some which I hope to announce in the very near future.
