Richard Mercer finally freveals his face

17 years ago, when Richard Mercer became the Love God, his boss at the time thought it would be a good idea to create a more mysterious persona for him by keeping what he looked like a secret.

But today as he is about to move to WS-FM with a new show, he has revealed his face, warts and all. Except there are none.

Mercer told the Sunday Telegraph, “Within myself as a person I can be quite shy and self-conscious, but once I get to know someone I’m fine. I’ve been like that my whole life,” he said.

“I’m not totally different to the love god … the attributes that I brought to the show like empathy, compassion and non-judgment, they are human virtues and I strive to use them in my private life these days.” 

“I regard myself as an apprentice romantic. I am a serial monogamous in that I have had a string of long-term relationships and I have never ended one of them, I’ve always been the dumpee.”
