Wodonga Students Take To The Air

Thursday 15 November, 2007

Wodonga TAFE broadcasting students will be showing off their skills they have learnt in the Diploma In Broadcasting (Radio Course) as they take part in their final assessment.

The station will be broadcasting live between 6AM and 9PM for a week from the 19th until the 23rd of November. The broadcast will reach a 10km radius of Wodonga from the TAFE Campus in West Wodonga and will be available in downloadable segments for the first time online at the station’s MySpace webpage.

During the year long course the students, under guidance of experienced local radio presenters, have had the chance to practice skills and knowledge that they gained including writing for radio, marketing, media, programming and presenting.

The students have also gained knowledge with visits to local radio operations as well as a trip to Melbourne to visit Fox FM, Triple M and 3AW to observe how things are done in the metropolitan stations.

Students have prepared programs for the week which will include anything from music to interviews, special guests and even music specials. Programs will be formatted like many other radio stations and will include:

Breakfast: The Brekky Show with Kristian and Jimmy (6-9AM)

Mornings: The Styxx Shift with Michael (9AM-12PM)

Afternoon: The Future with Ashleigh and Tom (12-3PM)

Drive: The Late Lunch with Heather and Trent (3-6PM)

Evening: Sam and the Daylight Savings Show (6-9PM)

During the week on air there will be the chance for two lucky listeners to win VIP tickets to Groovin The Moo on November 24th and music from Lisa Maxwell, The Kingswoods and Radio Star.
