Vale 2DU’s Pat Saunders

Former 2MG and 2DU presenter Pat Saunders passed away last week in Narromine. A memorial service will be held at Narromine Aero Club from 2pm tomorrow (Monday, March 9).

A tribute in the Dubbo Daily Liberal says “there wasn’t anything he couldn’t do,” including calling league and union matches and giving farm reports.

“When Ron Camplin owned 2MG, Pat was on air, did news, rural reports and promotions and was also involved in bringing more tourists to both Mudgee and Dubbo. He always seemed to be doing promotions for the region or working in the background to get the Central west noticed.”

Ron Camplin said PJ Saunders had been his dearest friend for nearly 60 years. “PJ was very, very special and we always had a lot of fun together,” Camplin told the Daily Liberal.
