Sports Commission award for 4GY/Heat broadcaster

Radio 4GY Breakfast Announcer and Sports Journalist Darren Keenan has received a High Commendation from the Australian Sports Commission.

The award was announced at the National Press Club in Canberra last week as part of the Australian Sports Commission Media Awards. Keenan’s commendation was in the catagory of Best Sports Journalism from Rural or Regional Media.

He received the award for his popular Saturday morning sports show called ‘Sorting Round-up.’ The program is a detailed look at sport with a heavy focus on local and Junior sport. “Keenan is also a Raward finalist in the sports catagory this year and we are all confident he will do well,” says 4GY/HeatFM News Director Trevor Taege.
