So what’s the secret to a long and happy marriage?

4KQ breakfast host Laurel Edwards and her husband, country musician Troy Cassar-Daley have celebrated 20 years of marriage.

Troy marked the occasion by sharing an incredibly touching video about their relationship on his Facebook page, along with the following message:

“20 years ago today I married a woman who is still the love of my life, we have laughed, cried, fought, had children, made many decisions, created a home with laughter and made a foundation for a life we are both really proud of.

“Thank you Laurel for your constant belief, love and our two children and turning a blind eye to a few too many guitars!! You are my true believer and always have been, I love you, TCD xxx.

Laurel also called Troy live on air on the 4KQ breakfast show this morning, and the pair had a very real chat about the past 20 years.

They agreed that the secret to their successful marriage is love and laughter, with Troy commenting that “we just laugh our heads off all the time – it’s a great way to keep things happy, and a nice recipe for a family.”

Proving their point, the pair then shared a few relaxed jokes including Troy commenting that he’s “not sure how (Laurel) got over my mullet and high top joggers” to which Laurel added, “And let’s not forget the fluro pink underwear!”

Troy finished up the chat with: “When Laurel and I first met, I didn’t even know what she did for a job. I was laying on her lounge and she took off early in the morning, I didn’t know if she was a radio announcer or a call girl!

The couple enjoyed their special day with a celebratory lunch together.
