SEN1323: Adelaide!

The Sports Entertainment Network (SEN) is expanding into Adelaide, signing a long term deal with ARN to lease its 5DN AM radio licence.

Managing Director, Danny Staffieri, says SEN1323 will officially begin broadcasting into the Adelaide radio market early in the new year.

Staffieri, who worked in Adelaide as FIVEaa’s General Manager, will personally oversee the development of SEN1323. During his tenure at the talk station, he made FIVEaa the highest rating newstalk station in Australia.

As MD of SEN, Staffieri established Australia’s first 24 hour a day sports entertainment station, which has enjoyed significant share growth.

“I have lived in Adelaide and I have a solid understanding of the local radio market. The people of Adelaide have a great passion for all things sport and SEN1323 will satisfy their thirst.

“While the program line up for SEN1323 has not been finalised, we believe it will comprise a mix of local and networked programs.

“SEN is looking to boost its on air team with a number of Adelaide based sports stars and media personalities.

“We are proud of the team we have managed to assemble in the past 12 months – the calibre of the on air talent is second to none.

“Our presence in the Adelaide market will only strengthen the power of the team.”

SEN’s team features some of Australia’s most popular and trusted sporting personalities and journalists including Tim Watson, Billy Brownless, Kevin Bartlett, Francis Leach, Dermott Brereton, Anthony Hudson, Matthew Hardy, Andrew Maher and Mark Doran.

Regulars on SEN include Alicia Molik, Andrew Gaze, Neil Balme, Nicole Livingstone, Patrick Smith and Tony Jones.

“We will deliver to the Adelaide market a great product, covering local, national and international sports’ news and programming. Everything from AFL, SANFL, soccer, cricket, swimming, athletics, golf, motor racing, horse racing, as well as pigeon racing will be covered!

“The SEN teams will leave no sporting arena unchecked – if its sport, SEN will cover it,” Staffieri says.

He has confirmed SEN will offer positions to a number of 5DN staff.
