After four years as News Director at Radio 4BC, Award Winning journalist Scott Mayman is leaving Fairfax Media.

“I developed the 4BC Newsroom from just four staff in 2010, to what it is today – a thriving major metropolitan newsroom with field reporters. I’m very proud of the achievements of each staff member – They’ve been learning the right way to provide local news for the local market.

“I know and understand the pain and effort each journo goes through for the product they produce” said Scott.

Over the past four years Scott has led the career development of more than 19 university students who’ve since gained placement in full-time employment. “Considering so many local newsrooms have shut down, these kids have been employed thanks to the career development program I developed”.

Scott is still working with American network CBS as their Australian correspondent and in 2015 will be involved in new projects that will see him back in local broadcasting.

Scott’s last day at 4BC will be on Friday.
