Could Rove pop-up on 2Day in time to influence the year’s last survey?

As we reported last Friday, Dan and Maz cleared the studio at 2DayFM before heading off to a farewell party at the pub. They’ve now posted a thank you message on Facebook as they prepare to go away on holidays until 2016 when they will return to host a national weekend breakfast show.
 
Strange that they would leave before the end of the year – especially given that there’s no ill feelings with management who are committed to them staying at the network.
 
Unless, of course, SCA has a better option.

Reliable sources have suggested to radioinfo that Rove McManus will start on-air as soon as next Monday. And he won’t be alone.
 
Joining him will be Bachelorette Sam Frost, according to our sources.
 
SCA management have declined to comment.
 
Dan, Maz and their team celebrated the end of their run on 2DayFM breakfast at the pub last Friday. The team fought valiantly against the juggernaut of Kyle and Jackie when they moved to rival KIIS, but never got much traction in the highly competitive Sydney breakfast market.
