Brisbane 97.3’s breakfast host Robin Bailey this morning went on the attack, slamming Steve Price for his recent comments on this week’s Q&A which branded journalist Van Badham as ‘ hysterical.’

It follows Price’s appearance on last night’s Project where he was questioned by Walleed Ally and Carrie Bickmore.
 

On Q&A Van Badham said:

“Steve, do you know what you’re doing? Do you have any understanding what you’re doing? This man has given us an extremely upsetting story about what happened and you are defending yourself in the context where we have to have a conversation about cultural attitudes that treat women differently and you cannot create paradigms where there are blokes…You’re proving my point very excellently about the attitudes…We can make jokes and it’s all jokes and, yeah, they apologised and that’s fine but on the receiving end is the ludicrous proportion of women who do endure violence.”

Price replied: “I think you’re just being hysterical.”

Just after the 7am news this morning, Robin Bailey echoed the views of many woman around Australia in saying many men had never been in a position where they have felt disempowered.

She explained how day to day life for women is a different experience to that of men.

Bailey attacked Steve Price’s lack of compassion and said guys like Steve just ” don’t understand what its like to be a woman ‘

Things got heated with co host Terri Hanson and the segment ended abruptly.

Steve Price has refused to apologise for his comments.
