RCS New York and United Christian Broadcasters have signed a historic Heads of Agreement, providing the exclusive use of RCS broadcast software throughout the world.

UCB International is a corporate body that links affiliated Christian Broadcasting organisations and ministries together worldwide. UCB is the fastest growing network in Australia, operating a network of FM licenses under the Vision FM brand totaling 120 stations on air today.

RCS is the world’s largest supplier of broadcast software and this agreement will provide UCB and its affiliate stations with the training, installation and integration of the RCS suite of products. RCS will work closely with UCB internationally to understand and help develop UCB into a truly global network by providing enterprise solutions.

Initiated through RCS Australia, this agreement is the beginning of a 5 year plan to upgrade existing stations and partner UCB in their global expansion. Currently UCB has affiliates in 13 countries and 220 radio stations throughout the world.

General Manager, RCS Australia Keith Williams told radioinfo: “RCS has been working with Ian Worby and UCB Australia for some time to provide solutions for their broadcasting vision of the future. We are delighted that this has now been extended to UCB International and we look forward to the expansion into current and new territories around the world. RCS operates offices in 23 counties so we are the natural partners to offer turnkey solutions of software and hardware and the ability to offer support and expertise when and where required.”

UCB Australia acts as an umbrella organisation for about 30 autonomous affiliated Christian radio stations, as well as being a national broadcaster in its own right. Their head office and studios are based in Brisbane, Queensland, from which it operates a network of FM licences across the country under Australia’s only national Christian network Vision FM. UCB also partners with a number of FM stations utilising the successful brand, Rhema FM.

Hal Short of UCBI says:“As Chairman of UCB International I have always encouraged excellence in performance for all our stations around the world. To deliver our many and varied programs using both professional broadcasters and volunteers we needed to find a software platform that could not only deliver cutting edge technology but present it in a format that was ‘user friendly’ and impactive. It also had to be future proofed. The RCS range of software does that.”
