Pop icon returns to smooth

Australian pop icon Tina Arena is returning for the fifth time to join the smoothfm all-star weekend line-up to host her own show from this Sunday to Sunday 7 May as well as a Mother’s Day special on Sunday 14 May.
 
Tina Arena is a highly celebrated artist, accruing 20 top 20 singles throughout her 40-year music career, has been awarded a Knighthood of the Order of National Merit in France and has dueted with superstars such as Stevie Wonder, Donna Summer and Andrea Bocelli.

Locally, her 1994 album ‘Don’t Ask’ is now at 14 x platinum, ensuring it is one of the highest selling Australian albums of all time.  Tina Arena was the first woman to win ‘ARIA Album Of The Year’, is regarded as #1 Greatest Female Vocalist of All Time (News Corp) and has released a Best Selling Biography, now approaching its fifth re-print.  In 2015 Tina Arena was inducted into the ARIA Hall of Fame and last year received an Order Of Australia.

Tina Arena is the only Australian artist to earn a gold or platinum certification for each of her original albums, in every decade since the 1970s right through to now. In fact, every album in her career has gone gold, platinum or multi-platinum.
 
Tina Arena recently released a new double album ‘Greatest Hits & Interpretations’ that celebrates her incredible music career and includes hits such as Chains, Burn, You Set Fire To My Life and Sorrento Moon.
 
To celebrate the release of her new album, Tina Arena has announced her ‘Innocence to Understanding’ Tour kicking off in Brisbane on Wednesday, 6 September and will perform at another 13 venues around the country. Tickets go on sale from 9.00am Thursday 27 April.
