Noongar Radio’s Carol Dowling wins Human Rights Award

Carol Dowling of Noongar Radio in Perth has won the Radio Award as part of the 2014 Human Rights Awards ceremony in Sydney.

Awarded for the program Another Stolen Generation, this feature highlighted the disproportionate placement of Aboriginal children in out-of-home care in Western Australia, and was originally created as part of the CBAA and CMTO’s National Features & Documentary series.

The Human Rights Awards are an initiative of the Australian Human Rights Commission that acknowledge and celebrate the extraordinary Australians who enhance rights and freedoms, promote equality and support social harmony.

The documentary is available free to use by any community station for local replay.
