Sammy Power and Subby Valentine will not return to the Mix106.5 breakfast show next year. Speculation has surrounded the pair for some time, but the formal announcement has been made today, their last shift on air.

ARN’s Sydney General Manager Anthony Fitzgerald has told radioinfo he is thankful for the “effort and commitment” shown by the current breakfast team:

“Sammy and Subby have worked hard and we thank them for their dedication and wish them well for the future.”

Sammy Power has been with Mix106.5 for six years, and Subby Valentine joined Sammy as host for the past 12 months.

Subby Valentine says: “My time with Sammy on Mix106.5 has been an absolute blast, I wouldn’t change it for anything. I’ve also loved chatting with our many listeners and look forward to having them all around for coffee.”

Sammy, who has been off air for a couple of weeks, declined to make a comment on the non-renewal of her contract in the station’s media statement, but is though to have been in talks with another network since she was released from her contractual obligatons two weeks ago.

Listeners will be able to say farewell to Sammy and Subby by logging onto the Mix106.5 website and emailing a message or by calling 9611 1065 to tell the station their favourite Sammy and Subby breakfast show moment.

No replacement team has yet been named.
