A new River springs in Sunraysia

The original station, 3MA was founded in Mildura in the Sunraysia region on the 25th May 1933.

Over the decades it has gone through many incarnations of format and name – most rercently Easymix 1467.

As of this morning, 15 June, 2016 the station will be know as RIVER1467.

It will have the same line up of local and national talent but, the station promises, an exciting and fresh approach.

The RIVER1467 talent lines up this way: Ted Guinea for breakfast, Paul Taylor for lunch and Daniel Brewer for drive, add to that list Neil Mitchell for mornings, Tony Leonard and Terry Wallace with Sportsday weeknights along with AFL Live and a strong local news service.

Content Director and breakfast announcer Ted Guinea says, “We want to show how much we are committed to being part of the local community and what better way to do that than our new name.

“RIVER1467 is fitting given we are an important part of the Sunraysia region’s heritage and landscape… just like the Murray and Darling. I am very excited about the change and just hope you are as well!”

Grant Broadcasters Regional Manager for Victoria & South Australia Peter Upton said, “We (Grant Broadcasters) have owned this station since 2007 and while Easymix 1467’s name has served us well, it doesn’t really reflect where the station is positioned musically. We are proud to be producing quality locally focussed programmes right here in Sunraysia and we believe the name RIVER1467 represents better what we stand for”.

General Manager Naomi Edwards said she was excited and motivated since her move from Queensland. “In the short time I have been with the Mildura team and Grant Broadcasters I have seen an air of excitement come across all staff and know that every team member will deliver the best product on air and also for our clients.
We’re all excited about the change and the refreshing approach and we hope Sunraysia is ready to embrace the change.”
