A new era for Eon

EON Sports Radio has created history, launching Australia’s first national 24-7 sports radio station.

Available on all digital radios (DAB+) in Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, Perth and Adelaide and via the EON Sports Radio website and mobile app nationally, EON Sports Radio will feature live and exclusive free-to-air audio coverage of the English Premier League, along with broadcasts of the A-League, NBL and much more.

With 24-hour programming covering live sport as well as all the latest sporting news from Australia and around the globe, EON Sports Radio will bring listeners closer to the action than ever before.

EON Sports Radio Chief Executive Glenn Wheatley, a founding director of EON FM in the 1980s said the station is “proud to be leading the way in this new era of broadcasting“.

“To deliver a revolutionary network to a nation so fascinated and connected to sport is one of the most exciting projects in Australian media for years,” Wheatley said.

EON Sports Radio went to air just after midday yesterday, July 20, and will broadcast the following sporting events as part of its live schedule:

  • Five English Premier League matches per week, – Five Hyundai A-League matches per week,
  • Three NBL matches per week,
  • 12 FA Cup matches,
  • One Bundesliga match per week, and
  • All Socceroos matches played in Australia.
