New Classic Rock appointments

Kate Mason has been appointed to the position of Music Director for Classic Rock stations 91.5 Melbourne and 95.3 Sydney. The station has also recently appointed Kate Mac to afternoons and Mike Perso to the Melbourne breakfast team.

Mason has worked closely with dmg Radio Australia’s two Melbourne stations for the past five years. She was Music Director and Assistant Program Director for Triple M Melbourne for eight years.

Mike Perso will join Classic Rock 91.5FM’s More Music Breakfast Show from Wednesday 27 April. He has over 20 years radio experience from on-air to Promotions and Marketing and Program Director for various stations including dmg Radio Australia’s regional network, Austereo and ARN.

Perso is a fan of Classic Rock: “I am excited to be able to play the music I love so much. When I was a kid I could never play guitar. I got into radio because I thought if I can’t play guitar at least I could play music by the people who can.”

dmg’s Group Program Director Paul Jackson says: “We are delighted to have someone of Kate’s quality and expertise crafting the music on Classic Rock. Our More Music Breakfast show is a unique proposition which I am sure our listeners will love.”

Kate Mac (pictured) also recently joined the Classic Rock team and can be heard weekdays from 10am to 2pm and on Saturday mornings with Tom Williams for The Tom Williams Show.

Kate was an on air announcer for five years with Austereo and has recently returned to radio after the birth of her first child.

Kate Mac has told radioinfo: “I have the chance to work with Tom Williams and play the music I love, and they call it work!”
