Murri FM on the move

Murri FM, now heard in Mackay, Sarina & the Whitsundays has outgrown its existing accommodation after only 6 months of full time operation.

From Sunday 18th June at 9am the radio station will relocate to a brand new broadcasting facility on the first floor of the Daily Mercury building in Wellington Street Mackay.

In announcing the move Station Manager Stephan Kent told radioinfo he was thrilled to be relocating the station to its new long term home. “Broadcasting and the Daily Mercury have perfect synergies, we really feel we have found the perfect place to develop our brand and begin our expansion”.

The new Broadcasting Centre will enable Murri FM to embark on a school based apprentices program which will train 10 students as qualified broadcasters over 2 years.

“We will have the space to carry out the training and provide a good qualification to those who are interested in a broadcasting career.”

The station will establish a local news room within months, and an interactive website which will also enable students in more remote locations to participate in the training scheme.

The Stations new address is:
MURRI FM
Broadcasting Centre
1st Floor
38-40 Wellington Street,
Mackay Q 4740

Telephone numbers and postal address PO Box 5337 MC Mackay will remain the same.

An open day will be held shortly to enable everyone to take a tour of the new facilities.
