Move over Idol, vega anoints first 30+ Suburban Superstar

Broadmeadow’s mother of two, Michelle Berner, was voted the winner of vega 91.5fm’s first 30+ Suburban Superstar grand final.

Michelle wowed a crowd of 600 at The Palms at Crown last Thursday in Melbourne with her high energy rendition of River Deep Mountain High.

Over 260,000 votes were registered on-line for the five finalists with only a narrow margin separating the winner Michelle and runner up Katherine Stoopman.

The brain child of vega 91.5fm announcer and Australian Idol judge, Ian “Dicko” Dickson, the two week search for the first 30+ Suburban Superstar saw over 200 people audition at four suburban locations – Preston, Pakenham, Yarraville and Wheelers Hill.

Next week Michelle will have her single recorded by esteemed musical director Chong Lim and added to the vega 91.5fm playlist.

Since her performance, runner up Katherine Stoopman has been approached and is in negotiations with an independent record label.
