Mix FM the big winner in first survey for ten years

Wednesday 10 June, 2015

Results from the first all-of-industry radio ratings survey on the Sunshine Coast for ten years are in.

The winner is Mix FM 92.7 with a 19.2% share all people 10+, and 20% share in breakfast.

Sea FM 91.9 followed with a 15.2% share all people 10+, and a 14.4% in breakfast.

Triple J was third with a 10.9% share all people 10+, and a 10.3% breakfast share.

Participating stations, Hot91, Sea FM 91.9, MIX FM 92.7 and the ABC were part of the radio audience research, which was conducted by Xtra Research and involved 1000 respondents between 4- 24 May 2015.
John Williams, General Manager of EON Broadcasting on the Sunshine Coast, says: “The last survey was held in 2005, and both local and national clients are keen to see these results. They will be of great benefit in showing clients the great strength of radio on the Sunshine Coast.”

The survey is no surprise but then again, the depth of it is not much different than doing a straw poll because all this seems to be is phone poll, recall research.

Amusing to see Zinc & 4GY not visible, yet all the Brisbane stations are.

With the Brisbane stations visible, we see that local ABC (612 & 90.3 which run exactly the same programming for about 15 hours a day) are actually the number two to Mix FM.

Great to see Drive a hit on Mix, Todd & Sami are true talents. Shame about Hot 91, it all went downhill when Prime took over.
