Mike Byrnes is moving from his breakfast role on River 94.9, Ipswich to the Group Content Director Role for SCA in Newcastle. 

Byrne is no stranger to SCA Newcastle, working as Program Director for NXFM and KOFM for six years between 1998 and 2005.

Prior to his Ipswich move, Byrne was working on air at Vega FM and was PD at Mix 106.5 rebuilding of Mix’s breakfast team Sonia and Todd in 2007.

In a Facebook post Byrne said “Love this place and lucky for me i’ll be able to experience it again. Yep, after 10 years i’m heading back to Newcastle as Content Director (that’s Program Director in old skool speak) for NXFM and KOFM. Can’t wait to work with the awesome team on the hill again”

The current Content Director for NXFM and KOFM, Matty White is taking up the position of Head of NRL and and Assistant Content Director at Triple M Sydney.
