Meet triple j’s new Drive hosts: Veronica and Lewis

After four years at triple j, hosting Weekend Breakfast and more recently Weekend Afternoons, Veronica & Lewis have been named the new hosts of triple j’s Drive show.

Veronica Milsom and Lewis Hobba, known collectively by their off-beat radio nicknames ‘Veronica & Lewis’, met in high school and went on to write and perform sketches for ABC TV’s Hungry Beast.

From there, Veronica joined the cast of ABC TV’s sketch comedy series Shaun Micallef’s Mad As Hell, as well as host the ABC2 series Backseat Drivers and appear on The Project, A League of Their Own and the most recent series of It’s A Date. Lewis performs and writes for comedy group A Rational Fear, which is broadcast on Radio National, and has written and directed comedy for Channel 10, The Comedy Channel and the ABC, as well as appearing on Spicks & Specks, The Chaser’s Media Circus, Backseat Drivers and The Feed. 2014 also saw both Veronica and Lewis perform live solo shows in The Melbourne and Sydney International Comedy Festivals.

Veronica & Lewis say they’re thrilled to be technically the biggest Drive show in the country… according to height. Being equally tall has afforded them the good grace of always seeing eye to eye, at a time when other smaller people have not.

Another addition to the triple j roster is Joshua Merriel who takes over as the host of triple j’s punk and hardcore program Short.Fast.Loud. Josh has been presenting mid dawns on triple j for the past two years and prior to that he coordinated SYN FM’s popular punk and metal show Works In Theory. Adding to his wealth of experience in those genres, Josh has run hundreds of punk gigs with both local and international acts. We say farewell to Stu Harvey who leaves to focus on his record label work. Stu has done an incredible job sharing his love of music with the country for the last 11 years. He is the founding presenter of Short.Fast.Loud. and has built a strong community around punk music in Australia, launching the careers of Parkway Drive, The Amity Affliction, and The Smith Street Band along the way.
