Max Moore-Wilton tipped to step down this month

As we reported back in August last year, SCA’s chairman Max Moore-Wilton flagged his intention to retire this year.

This week The Australian reports that the succession process is well under way and that Moore-Wilton could step down as early as 25th February, so coincide with the company’s half year results meeting.

According to the Australian’s sources, the Nomination and Remuneration Committee led by deputy chairman Leon Pasternak has decided to bring in an outside non-executive chairman. “The decision to hire from outside the existing board of directors indicates the embattled radio and TV company is seeking fresh ideas,” reports the Australia.

Speaking on condition of anonymity, a source close to the recruitment process told the newspaper: “We needed someone with a different perspective at the board table.”

Mr Moore-Wilton declined to make any comment on his successor, but said the company was looking at ways to “repair the business”.
