Matt Newton pleads not guilty to assault charges

Matt Newton has pleaded not guilty, in a Sydney court today, to four charges of assault occasioning actual bodily harm on his former girlfriend Brooke Satchwell.

Newton was excused from appearing in person at court and the matter was adjourned until January 31st.

When the case comes back to court, a three day hearing will decide the assault charges and also an apprehended violence order that Satchwell had taken out against Newton.

Newton was announced as part of Nova’s new drive team last week, but on Monday this week Newton and Nova severed their relationship after the assault charges became public.
