Darwin’s MIX1049 is hosting a wedding to help celebrate Valentines Day, but there’s a catch, the listeners get to decide who will win the $30, 000 complete Wedding package, and the winners will get married live on-air.

From over 350 online registrations, it was narrowed down to 3 lucky couples who have to do anything they can to drive people to www.mix1049.com.au and register a vote for that couple to be the recipients of MIX1049’s Dream Wedding.

Stunts to date include a man wearing a wedding dress throughout Darwin’s major Shopping Centre, one Couple practising their Bridal Waltz in the Smith St Mall, Hanging Banners in high Traffic Areas, taking out ads in the NT Newspaper, Fake wedding reception at Darwin Turf Club & selling tickets, Hiring out entire Internet Cafe & holding functions with free food and drinks and internet access.

Campaigning has included – bribing people with personalised Homebrew, free fishing charters and candy to name a few.

In the first weekend, there was 45, 000 votes, over double last years Valentine’s Day promotion.
Votes have come through from 5 different Australian States/Territory and UK/Europe.

The voting closes next Monday the 13th with the winners to be announced on Valentines Day.
The winning couple will get married live on-air at The NT Wedding Spectacular on the 19th of Feb.

The major prize is a complete wedding package, everything from Hens Night, Dress, Photography, Rings, Reception and more, worth almost $30,000.
