Latest on Hawkesbury Radio’s moves to expel member John Bryant

As Hawkesbury Radio prepares for its special meeting to consider expelling member John Bryant, a former director has told radioinfo that the ACMA has received “a barrage of complaints against Hawkesbury Radio over the last year and a half and yet they have never followed up on the complaints in a way that is satisfactory.”

The former board member, who sent details to the same wide mailing list as the original email,  says he resigned because he “did not want to be implicated” in decisions made by the board.

He says the station “has been hijacked” by a particular person. He alleges that the board is restricting membership to people who support the views of that person.

The former board member says: “It’s not that there have been no complaints, it’s the governing departments that do not have the funds nor the manpower to investigate… The station belongs to the community not a small group…”

The station has told radioinfo it will not make an official response to the accusations at this time, as it wants to adhere to proper disclipinary processes and procedures. radioinfo expects to receive an official response from the board some time after tomorrow’s meeting.
