iHeartRadio launches Australian music news station

Along with the release of its statistics today, ARN’s iHeartRadio has also announced the launch of its new music news station. It showcases exclusive artist interviews, songs, PR facts, and exclusive live performances from artists making the news that week, powered by Noise11.com.

Music fans will get behind the scenes access to their favorite artists, and will be able to stay up to date with the important music news of the week.

For example, you may hear Morrissey’s classic hit Every Day is like a Sunday, followed by an interview with the man himself, talking about his new album World Peace is None of Your Business, followed by touring news. Or tune in to hear Elvis Costello talking about a Broadway musical that he’s developing with Burt Bacharach, followed by the song they co-wrote God Give Me Strength, or London Grammar doing a live acoustic of Sights followed by an interview.

iHeartRadio head Geraint Davies is excited about the collaboration with Noise11.com: “We want to offer the music industry and those iHeartRadio customers who love all things music, the chance to stay in touch with big music news stories and songs in an entertaining way. This station will help you stay in touch and keep you entertained.”

Noise Network’s CEO and Executive Producer Paul Cashmere is also excited about his company’s partnership with iHeartRadio, saying he is looking forward to expanding iHeartRadio’s listeners’ experience:

“ARN is the most forward thinking commercial network in Australia. Their development of iHeartRadio locally shows great foresight in the future of broadcasting. This collaboration creates unique, entertaining and informative music programming within the iHeartRadio brand. It is a win for listeners, advertisers, the Australian music industry and locals artists and a perfect match for Noise11.com, a pioneer of digital media in Australia.”

iHeartRadio Festival dates announced

ARN’s partner Clear Channel has just announced that its fourth annual, star-studded iHeartRadio Music Festival and Village will return to the MGM Grand in Las Vegas on September 19 and 20, 2014.

Bringing the iHeartRadio app to life, last year’s festival featured more than 40 of the best artists in the music industry, including Justin Timberlake, Katy Perry, Paul McCartney, Queen, Miley Cyrus, Bruno Mars and more, with this year’s lineup (which will be released in the coming months) expected to showcase more of the same incredible talent.

“Every year the iHeartRadio Music Festival features the biggest names in music together on one stage, as well as historic collaborations you can’t see anywhere else; it has truly become the year’s unforgettable, can’t miss music experience,”
said Tom Poleman, President of National Programming Platforms for Clear Channel.

“Being able to bring such a diverse array of popular artists together, while having the opportunity to introduce listeners to new music and artists, is what Clear Channel is all about.”
