Hughesy and Kate’s Armageddon…Outta Here!

In December 2001, Hughsey and Kate were the first voices to launch Nova 100 in Melbourne.

After 2,800 shows, over 3500 guests, 60 outside broadcasts, two weddings and the birth of seven children, it all ends tomorrow.

The final Hughsey and Kate show will be the biggest and most spectacular to-date, broadcast live from the Athenaeum theatre in Collins Street from 6am.

Hughesy & Kate said, “It will be a celebration of life; the joys of a wedding and the unbridled tears of a wake – in other words, something for everyone.”

The team have invited numerous guests who have joined them on their breakfast show over the past 12 years including former Nova 100 journalists, The Project’s Carrie Bickmore and Channel Seven’s Rebecca Maddern, past team members Dave O’Neil, Ed Kavalee and Tim Blackwell and special guests including Nathan Buckley, Mick Molloy, Glenn Robbins and Peter Helliar, and many more. There will also be live performances by The Potbelleez and Kasey Chambers.

One thing to remember about the end of a show is it’s not just the talent that is impacted. It’s also the end of an era for the behind the scenes people. No doubt there will be plenty of tears as Hughesy & Kate are joined by their team, Dan Anstey, Lauren Brain, Ian Cohen, Luke Hodge, Dale Thomas, Executive Producer Sacha French, Producer Nick Daly and Hughesy & Kate’s family and friends.

Over 850 listeners have won tickets to attend Hughesy & Kate’s Armageddon…Outta Here! but the show will be also be streamed live on novafm.com.au so everyone can enjoy this epic finale.
