Harvey Norman is radio’s top advertiser in 2018

As the year comes to a close, Aircheck compared the top advertisers over the last 12 months and with over 8 million spots aired on Australian radio this year, Harvey Norman was the No.1 brand with over 200,000 ads placed across 53 stations.

 
Nova Entertainment owned Star 104.5 Central Coast aired the most Harvey Norman ads during this time, accounting for 14,052 spots.

AirCheck Client Services Executive, Riarne Gale says, “Compared to 2017, Harvey Norman increased their advertising by 3.5% which meant an additional 7,081 spots”.

Domayne took out second place airing 133,929 spots over 37 stations with Newcastle’s NEWFM aired the most ads for the brand with a massive 21,998 spots going to air.
 
At No. 3 and not too far behind was National Tiles, heard on 30 stations.

Credits/sponsorships took out the top category with over a million credits placed.
 
‘Cars & Trucks’ was the next most popular category with 353,824 spots and the top New Brand of the year was Government initiative, ‘My Health Record’, with 7,170 ads aired.

Melbourne talk station 3AW aired more ads than any other station this year, with 205,765 spots placed, closely followed by fellow Macquarie Media stations 4BC and 2GB.

Aldi was one of the biggest movers, jumping from No.88 last year to No.17 due to an 285% increase in airtime.
 
Supermarket rivals Woolworths and Coles were neck and neck for places 4 and 5 with Woolworths just ahead as Christmas approaches.
