DIG and Local Radio joint evening show for summer

In a first for the ABC, Local Radio and on-line music station DIG are joining forces over summer for a national evening music program called Dig On The Radio.

Hosted by Brian Wise and Michael Mackenzie, Dig On The Radio will be heard weeknights 6.30 – 10pm on the ABC’s 60 regional and metropolitan stations starting next Monday.

Dig On the Radio is a nightly mix of live performances from local and international acts, classic and feature albums, music talkback, quizzes, legendary concerts and feature interviews with artists like Ry Cooder and Chrissie Hynde.

“The emphasis is on music for the discerning older listener aged 30+ who enjoys a blend of country, soul, jazz and rock,” says DIG manager Tony Walker.

“And now, over the four weeks of summer, you can access all those styles in the one program on the one network.”

The program will reflect Dig’s on-line stable of artists, with the added spice of unique radio content, and the opportunity for a national audience to interact with Wise and Mackenzie through talkback, competitions, email and good old fashioned debate.
