Dave Noonan’s departure from Triple M Hobart confirmed

Triple M Hobart has confirmed the departure of long serving breakfast host Dave Noonan and co-host Al Plath (see our earlier reports).

They will finish towards the end of this month.

In a statement to radioinfo today, SCA said:

The Dave Noonan Show with Al Plath will not be returning in 2020.

Southern Cross Austereo’s Executive General Manager of Tasmania, Ally Bradley said, “I would like to thank Dave for his outstanding contribution to not only SCA Hobart, but to the wider Hobart community. “ ‘Noons’ as he is affectionately known, is the guy who hugs people on their first day of work to welcome them. Spend more than 30 seconds in public with Noons and you soon realise that everyone treats him like an old mate.

“Dave’s tireless work with the Give Me Five for Kids charity has seen close to three million dollars raised for the children’s ward at Royal Hobart Hospital.”

Of his departure Dave said, “It has been an absolute privilege to be in the role for this long. I have loved being part of the Hobart community and we have shared many laughs and tears along the way. I am excited about not getting up at 4.30am every day!”

The show will conclude on Friday October 18th. A new Triple M Hobart breakfast show will be announced in due course.
