CSU Radio Students embark on work attachment

The 2014 Charles Sturt University radio class have embarked on their final internships before their end of year graduation.

The students, studying the 3 year Bachelor of Communications in Commercial Radio are in their last semester.

CSU’s B Comm (Commercial Radio) is designed to educate and train students who want to make a career in promotional communication roles within the commercial radio industry and other associated media industries. The course recently announced a partnership with Southern Cross Austereo, which will allow regional students selected by SCA stations to get into the course easily.

In their final lesson last week, before dispersing around the country on their work attachments, the students got the big picture about working in Australia’s radio industry from radioinfo’s Steve Ahern. Ahern’s book Making Radio is a set text book in the course.

Two of the interns, Anna McNamara and Rebecca Cartwright have told radioinfo they have begun their internships with SCA at Triple M with the local sales team. “It has been a full-on three days and lots has already been learnt! We are being handed more tasks and are dealing with all the different programs dealt with in the industry. The people are fabulous and more than happy to help us.”
