Covid modifications to radio surveys, but no change for Survey 5

In response to Covid lockdowns, changes are expected for the next few radio surveys, with more surveys to be compleeted online.

Commercial Radio Australia says the current lockdowns will have no material impact on metropolitan radio survey five, which is currently underway and will be released as scheduled on Tuesday, August 24.

After that there will be some changes to the way the information is collected due to GfK fieldworkers not being able to visit households in some locked down cities.

As a result of the lockdowns in 2020, survey provider GfK already had contingency plans in place and has advised that in markets affected by health and safety restrictions, they will increase the proportion of respondents completing the survey online where necessary.

Each survey is conducted across two waves.  Fieldwork for survey five began on May 23, prior to the lockdowns, and concluded on June 26.  The second wave is taking place from July 11 to August 14.

More than 60,000 respondents are surveyed across the eight metropolitan radio ratings conducted each year.
