‘Memories of Sarajevo’ was wholly conceived, written, directed and presented by Bay FM presenter Karena Wynn-Moylan , who has been fronting a regular weekly arts magazine program called ‘Arts Canvass’ every Thursday morning for over 16 years. It is the first time she has entered this award.

The first episode in the series ‘ Memories of Sarajevo: Radio Zid- rock under Siege’ was also awarded ‘Best Spoken Word /Documentary’ at the Community Broadcasting Awards in 2014.

The series was co-produced by Bay FM station producer William Martin and based on research by Dr. Peter Wynn-Moylan of Southern Cross University and Social media research by Deb Sharp of the station’s management team.

A video Karena also made to accompany a song she wrote for the series was also awarded a ‘Special Mention’ by judges in the Byron Flickerfest short Film awards last year.

The series has a  specially written musical soundtrack by composer/pianist  Ken Naughton and Karena and also features examples of rare archival music produced during the war in Bosnia by the many underground bands that flourished during the siege of Sarajevo.
