The ABA has allocated a new community radio licence for Christmas Island to Radio VLU2-FM Announcers Association Inc (VLU2-FM), beginning 1 March 2003.

The service will broadcast on two frequencies, FM 102.1 at Drumsite and FM 105.3 at Rocky Point. VLU2-FM is currently broadcasting on those frequencies under a temporary community broadcasting licence that expires on 28 February 2003. VLU2-FM was the only applicant for the licence.
