Caralis Supernetwork continues upgrades with ZOO FM Dubbo Translator

Bill Caralis, independent owner and operator of the 2SM Supernetwork, has launched yet another ACMA approved supplementary translator service from ZOO FM 92.7 Dubbo.

After months of technical planning and installation, long serving 2DU/ZOO FM General Manager Ray Core “threw the switch” and ZOO FM 91.9 went to air.

Commenting on the launch Core, who has been with the station for over 30 years, told radioinfo: “The residents and business community of Dubbo will greatly benefit from this vastly improved coverage. The addition of this new translator service which supplements our current service will provide complete coverage of our total service area and all our listeners will receive a crystal clear signal”

He went on to pay tribute to station engineer David Cooper and network engineer Alan Bone for their contribution through both the planning and installation stages of the state of the art technical installation.

Caralis told radioinfo: “Dubbo is one of the fastest growing regions in Australia and it is most proper that the Supernetwork provide the best possible coverage, I am sure we have done just that. I just hope our engineers can keep up with the workload as we have a very busy time with further installations and we would like to have them completed by Christmas. They are doing a great job and I will just have to keep the vitamins up to them”.

Photo shows the new FM translator tower actually on top of the 2DU building. Reason being it covers the CBD of Dubbo which has grown dramatically over the years. Some difficult terrain caused some reception difficulty which meant that ZOO FM’s signal was missing out servicing the heart of Dubbo business area.
