Bronte Langbroek fills in for Susie O’Neill while she is at the Olympics

Bronte Langbroek will keep Susie O’Neill’s seat warm  at Brisbane’s Nova 106.9 during O’Neill’s official duties with the Australian Olympic team in Japan from next Monday 19 July.

Susie O’Neill is the Deputy Chef de Mission for the Australian Olympic Team.

Nova 106.9 Brisbane Breakfast Co-Producer, Bronte Langbroek, will leave the producers’ box and slide into the studio to join the breakfast team on-air while O’Neill is in Tokyo.

Bronte is no stranger to assuming the hot seat of a breakfast show having been on-air in her previous roles in regional radio. Her aunt, Kate Langbroek, has also given her plenty of tips to help keep her nerves at bay as she joins Brisbane’s number one rating breakfast show.

“I’m so grateful to be given the chance to be on-air on a number one rating metro breakfast show during survey. l am looking forward to bringing the fun we have behind the scenes to on-air. I am still pinching myself!”

Nova 106.9 will have two of its breakfast hosts travelling to Japan for the Games, as Luttsy is also packing his bags and his vaccination certificate for Tokyo.

Luttsy will witness the Games firsthand as an official MC and Stadium Announcer for several sports including the Rugby Sevens.

Luttsy will join the show live every day from a variety of Tokyo landmarks while Susie will be living in the athletes’ village and will do some crosses to the show depending on her commitments to the Australian Olympic team.

Bronte Langbroek started with Nova 106.9 in the Brand & Promotions department and left to take up a regional promotions and producing role in 2016. She switched sides in 2019 to take up a regional breakfast announcer gig before leaving that at the end of 2020. Since the beginning of 2021, Bronte Langbroek has co-produced Nova 106.9’s breakfast show with Bree Clements.

Nova Group Program Operations Director Brendan Taylor says: “We have a brilliant team dynamic at the Ash, Kip, Luttsy and Susie O’Neill show and Bronte will be amazing over the next few weeks. This opportunity will showcase she’s talent to watch out for.”
