Brad ‘Fitzy’ Fitzgerald replaces Pete Curulli on Perth’s mix94.5

Curulli is on parental leave.

Brad “Fitzy” Fitzgerald made his return to radio this morning, joining mix94.5 and filling in for Pete Curulli who will be on parental leave for the next two weeks.

Pete, who recently welcomed baby #2 with his wife Liz, makes up one half of The Rush Hour with Lisa & Pete, and has handed over the mic to Fitzy, who says he has some big shoes to fill.

“Pete does an amazing job and the synergy between Pete and Lisa is fantastic,” he said.

“I really love the fact that they’re so local. There’s nobody else that’s local in the afternoons anymore, so it’s great.

“I think we take a lot of pride in Perth and holding onto our localism.

“It’s a little sad that that’s disappearing from a lot of radio stations so it’s fantastic to see you’re keeping that alive, and doing such a good job of it too.”

“I’m pretty loose and fairly knock-about,” he said.

“I like to have fun and tease a little, so hopefully you’ll hear good interaction between Lisa and I. I’m looking forward to just having a blast!”

“The main thing for me is just to fill Pete’s shoes as best I can and help Lisa keep doing the great job she does.”

With baby Curulli arriving while The Big Breakfast with Clairsy, Matt & Kymba are on holiday, Fitzy will be joining Lisa for Winter Breakfast.

“I’ve waited 20 years to do drive show hours, and now I’m waking up early for breakfast again,” he joked.

“Pete and his wife could have timed this better!”
