ARN’s digital listening in May grows to 8.2 million hours

ARN has recorded its biggest ever month of digital listening with 8.2 million total listening hours in May.
 
Total listening hours were up 25% year-on-year in May with 1 million unique listeners. The digital platform also recorded 2.9 million smart speaker listening hours, up 64% year-on-year.
 
Total listening hours includes all live streaming stations managed by ARN.

In Podcasts, Audioboom’s Casefile, which is part of the iHeartPodcast Network, remain in the #1 position with Stuff You Should Know at #2 on the Australian Podcast Ranker. The Kyle & Jackie O Show is #4, Life Uncut with Brittany Hockley and Laura Byrne is #6 and She’s On The Money is at #8.
 
New iHeartPodcast Network Australia podcast listener data for May from podcast technology provider Megaphone shows the Entertainment & Lifestyle category remains the most popular while Catchup Radio is the second most popular category – up 71% year-on-year.
 
True Crime is up 433% YOY, Comedy has seen record growth up 43% year-on-year and sport is up 160% year-on-year. Year-on-year, national total downloads on the iHeartPodcast Network are up 75%
