AFTRS Birthday Boy Oscar nominees available for radio interviews

Birthday Boy, an animated short film made by students of the Australian Film Television and Radio School (AFTRS) has been nominated for an Oscar in the 2005 Animated Short Film category.

Director Sejong Park and producer Andrew Gregory are available for radio interviews about their big break. Contact AFTRS Media Manager Rachel Gleeson on 0417 009 694 to reach Park or Gregory.

Both Sejong Park and Andrew Gregory will shortly travel to Los Angeles for the gala Oscar® presentation ceremony – a dream for any filmmaker – but even more so given they only graduated from AFTRS last year.

Birthday Boy has won 30 film festival awards and screened at 52 festivals worldwide since it was completed in April 2004.

Sejong Park is 38, was born and grew up in Korea. When he came to Australia seven years ago, he worked in 2D animation and as an illustrator. In 2003, he was accepted into the Australian Film Television and Radio School (AFTRS). He graduated in April 2004 with a Master of Arts in Digital Media.

Andrew Gregory, 28, studied law at Australian National University before completing a Masters Degree in Producing at the Australian Film Television and Radio School (AFTRS) in 2004. His childhood was spent mainly in Canberra, although he also lived in Rome, where his father was a delegate to the United Nations.
