ACE Radio owners Rowly and Judy Paterson announced the purchase of the old 3MP frequency, 1377 AM and its Stereo DAB+ associated spectrum in Melbourne to staff this morning.
They told staff: “The addition of a Melbourne radio station to the ACE Radio network is a positive move for the growth and future of our company.
“There will be exciting opportunities offered to our existing staff to be a part of this new Melbourne radio station. The acquisition of an extra radio station and the additional advertising revenue will help ACE Radio’s recovery from the COVID-19 crisis now and into the future.”
Details on the name, format direction and commencement date of the new AM and DAB+ station, previously owned by SEN, will be released in the near future.

Great to hear that 3mp is returning. Don’t make the mistake of Magic by having a playlist that is duplicated by several FM stations. The original format played by 3mp was excellent but wasn’t promoted enough.
