Classic Flow, a brand new podcast series by ABC Classic 2 that pairs guided yoga and meditation practice with a bespoke classical music playlist, launches on Saturday 17 September with a free yoga class and a live classical concert at The Cutaway, Barangaroo, Sydney NSW.

​Participants will glide through a glissando of blissful, low-impact yoga guided by respected practitioner Lara Zilibowitz, and soothing classical music performed live by pianist Sally Whitwell and cellist Sally Maer. Special guests the Sydney Children’s Choir will add to the immersive sensory experience and perform a brand new Australian work.

Classic Flow is Australia’s first podcast for classical-music-loving yoga fans and has been created to appeal to a busy, health-conscious, yoga-lover who wants to be able to take a short-form class with a favourite instructor at a time and place convenient to their working week. The 6 x 30 minute guided practice is accompanied by a bespoke and specially- recorded playlist by Australian musicians. 

Each Classic Flow episode also comes with its own visual ‘asana guide’, including a photo of each pose and short videos for the more complicated. It’s a private yoga class and classical concert that fits in your pocket.

Classic Flow was conceived as a digital first offer with a completely new approach for audiences to discover ABC content.  With the current popularity of short form boot camp-style video workouts like ‘the 7-minute workout’ for the time-poor, and the uptake of mindfulness and meditation teaching in schools, ABC Radio identified a growing need for ‘at-home access’ to wellbeing related activities and an opportunity to create additional audio content for this  audience.
