4CC Rocky to get FM repeater

4CC Rockhampton will get a new frequency to improve reception in the Yeppoon area of Queensland thanks to the government’s Commercial Radio Blackspots Program.

ACMA’s decision to grant a new repeater frequency “follows consideration of a request from Prime Radio (Gladstone) Pty Ltd, the licensee of the commercial AM radio broadcasting service 4CC, to rectify deficient coverage in the area east of Rockhampton, from Yeppoon to Keppel Sands.”

A low power FM transmitter will ‘infill’ where the coverage from the AM transmitter located at Pink Lily is deficient.

The technical specifications for the Yeppoon transmitter are in the variation to the Rockhampton – Gladstone radio licence area plan.
