3MP for sale?

DCL owned 3MP is rumoured to be for sale.

One industry rumour this week had the station up for grabs to a regional radio group for the price tag of $4 million. John Singleton is also rumoured to be in discussions about one or both of the DCL stations. radioinfo’s sources believe that either of these scenarios, if true at all, are probably a long way off any immediate deal.

DCL’s hold on 3MP and 3AK has been rumoured to be unstable for a while, with the latest rights issue by the company (which saw the entry of Southern Cross as a share holder) setting the tongues wagging again.

Like the rumour about Sydney’s 2SM, nothing is certain in this industry until it is certain.
