ABC Radio’s flagship current affairs program AM celebrates 35 years on air this week.

AM covers the stories each morning that the other current affairs teams throughout Australia, radio and TV, follow for the rest of the day. It is heard at 6am and 8am on local radio and also at 7am on Radio National.

The program is presented by Linda Mottram whose achievements include a Walkley Award for radio current affairs journalism for her coverage of the Kosovo conflict. She has worked as a federal parliamentary reporter, a reporter on Australian affairs for Radio Australia and a foreign correspondent, in the Middle East, in Russia and in the Balkans.
