2CC is undergoing a huge shake-up, dropping their local breakfast program with Tim Shaw and networking in the Alan Jones Breakfast Show live from 5.30am to 9am weekdays, commencing Monday 15th July.
The station sees his access to politicians, Ministers and Prime Ministers as unparalleled and his focus on what’s happening in Canberra as the perfect fit for 2CC Breakfast.
Alan Jones says: “Looking forward to being with you at Breakfast time in Canberra from July 15. We’ll be rattling a few cages!!!”
The Ray Hadley Morning Show will be extended by an hour to be broadcast from 9am to 12 noon and Tim Shaw will present 2CC’s Live & Local Drive program weekdays 3pm to 6pm, replacing Richard Perno.
2CC General Manager, Michael Jones says “Alan Jones on 2CC breakfast is a huge win for Canberra and demonstrates our commitment to keeping Canberrans abreast of the issues that matter to them most.”
The latest ratings for Canberra are due to be released next Wednesday.

At last, Canberra news-talk listeners will have a conservative alternative to the chronically Left ABC.
Typically, ABC666 (2CN) & RN (846, 2RN formerly 2CY) has approximately triple and double the audience of 2CC at 12%+ and 8%+ respectively. In other markets, RN rates 2%-3%. A typical ratings result for the Canberra market can be found at https://www.gfk.com/en-au/insights/report/radio-audience-measurement-survey-summary-reports/ .
Alan Jones will have an uphill battle to increase the market share of 2CC's audience. Otherwise it will be a first for a Sydney-based broadcaster, Fran Kelly beating the other Sydney-based broadcaster Alan Jones.

As at 17-12-2019, in the 0530 to 0900 timeslot, RN's ratings are 10.0 compared to 2CC's 5.5, source https://www.gfk.com/fileadmin/user_upload/dyna_content/AU/Documents/Share_Summary_Reports/Regional/2019/S3_2019/GfK_Summary_Report_Canberra_Survey_3_2019.pdf
In other capital cities, RN rates between 2% and 3%. Canberra's RN has consistently been very high rating.
