Matt Falloon (and as Wendy pointed out “rhymes with balloon”) left a corporate job to become a full time “twister”. His kit holds more than 7,000 balloons of varying shapes and sizes.

Robbie Buck has gone a step further, inviting listeners to create their own Sydney opera plot.

Next week Sydney’s 702 ABC  line-up returns to the airways with a mix of new and familiar voices, highlighted by a live spectacular from the Magic Spiegeltent as part of the Sydney Festival.
 
New presenters Wendy Harmer and Christine Anu will join Richard Glover, James Valentine, Robbie Buck and Dom Knight live on stage for a sold out show in Hyde Park between 4-6pm on Thursday 21 January.

Today, once radio’s favourite daughter, Wendy Harmer, pulled the pin on The Hoopla, just four years after she and co founder Jane Waterhouse had given it life.

Despite this quality online women’s publication pulling almost 400,000 unique browsers every month and growing, it still couldn’t compete in a rapidly changing online environment.

Writing in the Telegraph, Ms Harmer put the value of the blunder at $100 million.
