Vale Gary O'Callaghan

Former Sydney radio icon Gary O'Callaghan has passed away, aged 83.

The Commercial Radio Hall of Fame recipient dominated  the Sydney radio scene at 2UE for three decades during the 1960s, 70s and 80s.

He started his career at 2SM and joined 2UE in 1956 where he stayed until his retirement in 2003, apart from a short stint at 2KY during Kerry Packer's brief ownership of 2UE.

Clive Stark farewelled by former 3LO colleagues at ABC Melbourne

Friends and colleagues of the late Clive Stark farewelled the former ABC Melbourne presenter this evening at the Southbank ABC studios.

Reminiscences included stories of how respected and influential Clive's weekend arts programs were in Melbourne, and how he rode out the ups and downs of ABC management decisions during his long career.

Former 2UE/2KO salesman and broadcaster Jack Gleeson has passed away.

Jack's friend Chris Maitland posted details of his passing, saying:

It is with sadness that I report the passing at RPA Hospital on Tuesday 30th May of an old 2UE colleague, Jack Gleeson, who represented 2KO Newcastle in advertising sales to Sydney advertising agencies.

2UE & 2KO being co-owned by the Lamb family, Jack sold 2KO out of the 2UE building in North Sydney from the sixties until 1978.

Former 2NC Newcastle morning presenter Libby Sanders has passed away.

Libby, a local Newcastle personality, presented the daily current affairs morning show the ABC's Newcastle station in the 1980s and 90s.

She had been fighting cancer for almost 20 years, and passed away last week.

Libby's memorial service will be held at Newcastle's Christ Church Cathedral tomorrow (Friday 24 March) at 2:30.

The cathedral is just across the road from the old ABC Studios in Newcomen Street Newcastle.

She leaves behind husband Mark and two children.

Veteran Radio Announcer and entertainer Bob Horsfall has passed away in Melbourne.

In an entertainment career that began in the 1930s and continued right up until his passing, Bob worked at many stations in Victoria and NSW. In recent years he had a shift on Golden Days Radio

Radio and TV actor Ross Higgins has died, aged 86.

Ross was well known for his tv character Ted Bullpit in Kingswood Country, and for his radio character acting and voiceover work.
